OUR FOOTPRINT IS GLOBAL. OUR FOCUS IS LOCAL.
RefuAid work with local partners to support access to employment, education, housing and healthcare.
More people are moving than ever before. Many people are moving because they are forced to. When arriving in a new community or country people who have been forced to flee their home face huge challenges in accessing housing, healthcare, education and employment. There are few initiatives successfully providing long-term solutions in refugee hosting communities. This create a cycle of dependency on emergency response solutions such as food and clothing donations.
Your support enables us to increase access to education, employment, housing and healthcare in refugee-hosting communities. Our projects support both newly-arrived refugees and the local community. Refugee camps place a limit on people's human rights and strip away people's ability to make their own choices about their lives. We look to solutions that restore independence and dignity. The projects we support and run show there is another way to support both refugees and the whole community.
RefuAid provide access to employment oppurtunities in the UK. The Access Loan scheme provides people who have claimed asylum in the UK to return to their previous career with an interest-free loan that covers the cost of requalification.
RefuAid support and develop the capacity of health partners working in refugee-hosting communities. We work with hospitals, local organisations and international NGOs to improve health services for both refugees and host community members.
RefuAid support language education oppurtunities in the UK and overseas. All of our language projects result in students receiving internationally-recognised qualifications. Many of our students have gone on to gain opportunities in higher education and employment.
With your help we support long-term housing projects that provide housing to refugees and destitute local people. Our housing projects provide safe and legal private housing. RefuAid works toward encouraging alternatives to protracted refugee camps.
